Damn James. I’m trembling as I walk away from applying his sun-cream. He’s tempting me on purpose, I’m sure of it.

And it’s working damn well.

My fingers are shaking from the desire that’s flooding through my veins; my entire body feels loose and hot. It would have been so easy to let my hands sweep over his broad, muscled shoulders and run them over his chiselled chest. To twist him round until my lips found his, to wrap my legs around him, to pull him closer, to rub against him...

No! I can’t fantasize about James. I told myself nothing but friendship, and I meant it.

It’s so tempting to ignore my own rules and do what I want for once. I reach the end of the deck and turn around, facing James again. His rippled body glistens in the bright sun and my core throbs in response. I have to escape; the languid heat is making me even hornier.

I trudge down to my cabin to lie down. This is ridiculous, it’s the most perfect blue sky day on deck and I’m hiding in my stuffy room.

I try to nap, but my body is too jangly to sleep. I keep tossing over; thinking how much more fun it would be to have brought James down to the cabin with me.

“Fuck it.” I jump up to standing and stomp up to the deck again. I’m not hiding inside because James is playing some game.

He is annoyingly at ease when I emerge on the deck; snoozing comfortably in the sunshine without a care in the world. I can’t resist picking up his water bottle and pouring icy liquid over him.

“What the—!” He yells jumping up to sitting. I try not to notice how his steely abs contract as he moves.

“Are you deliberately trying to make me uncomfortable?”

“Uncomfortable how?” He lazily rubs his beard.

“Walking around half naked all the time, making me rub lotion on your body.”

“Why would that make you uncomfortable?” The corner of his lips twitch in amusement.

I decide to call a spade a spade. “You damn well know why. Are you trying to seduce me?”

“No comment.” He smiles widely at me, and I don’t know if I want to kiss him or wipe the smile off his face.

“No comment means yes.” I’m about to add that he has to stop, but he speaks first.

“It’s hard to seduce someone who’s not interested.” His brilliant white teeth bite down on his bottom lip. I’m jealous of his teeth, I want to be the one biting down there. “I thought you weren’t interested?”

“I’m going to get started on dinner.” I spin on my heel and take myself back downstairs.

I throw myself into chopping onions with more vigour than necessary.

“Damn.” I slice my finger on a can and watch my blood spill out.

This is ridiculous. We’re the only two people on a forty-foot yacht for the next seven weeks. If I’m already this tempted to jump on him after seventy-two hours of abstinence, there’s no way I’m going to be able to last all the way to Hong Kong.
